Critical decisions are often made under challenging conditions—incomplete, stale, or uncertain data sources, extreme time pressures, and complex system dynamics all contribute to operator workload and impact decision outcomes. We address these challenges by combining expertise in human cognition, work analysis, and information display with cutting-edge computational approaches that span data mining, data fusion, and probabilistic modeling. We create role- and task-tailored decision-aids that leverage novel display techniques to help operators efficiently access, understand, and reason about critical information.
