Charles River Analytics Presents New fNIRS Device at Brain Health and Performance Summit

Charles River Analytics, developer of intelligent systems solutions, will discuss development of a functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) device at the 2018 Brain Health and Performance Summit, which takes place from April 4-6, 2018, in Columbus, OH. Dr. Bethany Bracken, Senior Scientist will discuss the development and refinement of this device. Topics include:

  • fNISR sensorDesign and refinement of our custom fNIRS device built to be more portable, rugged, and cost-effective than similar sensors on the market
  • Validation of this sensor versus another fNIRS sensor
  • Validation of this sensor and our ability to assess cognitive workload with it using a gold-standard laboratory task and a more realistic multi-task battery

This work is based on part of our Army-funded Monitor, Extract, and Decode Indicators of Cognitive Workload (MEDIC) and our NASA-funded system for Cognitive Assessment and Prediction to Promote Individualized Capability Augmentation and Reduce Decrement (CAPT PICARD) work. Charles River and our partner, PLUX, recently announced the release of an fNIRS device that measures brain blood oxygenation and cardiac information.
