PERSEID component eases decision making
SIGNAL Magazine, the official Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) publication, featured an article on the US Air Force’s development of a prototype intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) management system. The prototype known as Deliberate and Dynamic ISR Management, or D2ISRM, aims to improve the command and control of ISR systems. One of D2ISRM’s primary components, PERSEID, or Perceptual Sensing and Information Displays, was built by Charles River Analytics to improve the effective use of ISR assets through decision-support algorithms. US Air Force officials noted how PERSEID makes decision making easier by recommending ISR platform tasking and re-tasking based on mission considerations and needs, making it possible for human ISR planners to more rapidly generate more effective plans for using ISR assets to gather valuable intelligence data.
