Mindfulness training teaches us to focus on the present moment and minimize distraction from competing thoughts and memories. This training improves working memory and increases density in the hippocampus (the part of the brain that links memory, learning, and emotion). In this study, Dr. Seth Elkin-Frankston of Charles River Analytics and other researchers examined whether mindfulness training reduces proactive interference in working memory and if this reduction is associated with changes in hippocampal volume.

Charles River Analytics, developer of intelligent systems solutions, will discuss development of a functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) device at the International Neuroergonomics Conference, which takes place from June 27-29, 2018, in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Bethany Bracken, Senior Scientist, will discuss the development and refinement of a fNIRS device. Topics include:
US Navy Awards Charles River Analytics Additional Funding to Develop Intuitive and Efficient Mission Planning Tools
Tuesday, June 5, 2018
Charles River Analytics, developer of intelligent systems solutions, announces a new contract to create more effective mission planning tools for Navy pilots. Current mission planning interfaces are difficult to understand and use, so many operators do not harness the full power of advanced planning systems. Under the Intuitive User Interfaces for Task-Tailored Planning (INTUIT) contract, Charles River is creating user interfaces for more intuitive and efficient mission planning. The two-year contract awarded by the US Navy is valued at $750,000.

Charles River Analytics Inc., developer of intelligent systems solutions, has announced two follow-on contracts in predictive systems health maintenance for the US Army. Under the E-MC2 and POWERED efforts, Charles River will use our Figaro™ technology to help predict resource gaps and faults in military operations systems. Figaro is Charles River’s open-source, probabilistic programming language for probabilistic modeling. The Army wants to effectively manage the energy and supply resources needed to train, move, and sustain forces and systems in military operations.
